The inspiration to create the Dutch Angle brand and online store was fueled by a passion for adventure sports and skateboarding in particular. The company is headed by adventure sports fanatic Louis du Plessis, who loves surfing, BMX, kiteboarding, motocross and of course skateboarding. He also has a head for business and has built a successful retail company in the construction sector using online marketing tools.
The Dutch Angle logo was created by Louis’ childhood friend and fellow skateboarder Anre Bothma.
While on holiday in KZN South Africa in 2019, Louis introduced his three young boys to the sport. It was the perfect distraction from their iPads and Xbox. Pro rider Kalvyn MacMillan ( https://www.instagram.com/kalvynmac/?hl=en ) hooked them up with Frank McCready of Ethekwini Skate Co. (https://www.instagram.com/ethekwiniskateco/?hl=en ). They kept Frank busy for hours and had a brilliant shopping experience.
Dutch Angle’s online store focus on bringing the same level of expertise and attention to detail that they experienced in Frank’s store, to the rest of the skateboarding community.
